Imbalplast srl was founded on June 7, 1976, but its origins actually date back to 1955, when Gianni Alzani began producing plastic bags for packaging bitter roots, a vegetable typical of the Soncino area. The production of these vegetable bags became the family business, which employed about ten people, including his son Sergio—a well-known professional cyclist at the time—and, starting in 1963, his young wife Mariuccia.

The major turning point —and the company’s specialization in the production and printing of bags for the hygiene and healthcare sector—occurred in the late 1970s and gained momentum with the subsequent joining of the company by their sons Renato and Giovanni. Renato’s passion for mechanics and technology gave the company a boost of innovation, leading it—with the vital contribution of his wife Beatrice—to the level of excellence that is so highly valued and recognized in the European market today. This is the story of a family that has successfully combined passion and expertise, growing steadily with each new generation—a legacy that young Leonardo, the son of Renato and Beatrice, is ready to carry on and honor.

At work, just like at home. Guided by the same values of integrity, respect, credibility, dialogue, loyalty, dignity, fairness, a sense of belonging, and responsibility. These are principles we believe in—ones that aren’t always easy to put into practice within the company, but which have guided our decisions and actions for decades. They point the way toward a long-term vision that, by moving beyond a purely profit-driven approach, also benefits the community and the local area, while maintaining the capacity to be sustainable across generations.

In 2001, we embarked on a major initiative to achieve the highest quality standards in terms of production, management, the environment, social responsibility, and economics. Continuous monitoring has become a constant focus of our work as we strive to meet ever-higher goals and standards.
